About the Accommodation

The Robinson Hut (No. 19a) gets its name because it’s my simplest hut and because, when I first bought it, it didn’t have any electricity. Now it has a pretty decent solar power system with good batteries that ensure a 230-volt power supply even at night and in bad weather (see below for details).

The interior design is still almost as original as it once was—it has that 70s/80s cabin charm. The kitchen (more like a kitchenette) is quite small and not suited for professional chefs, but it’s actually well-equipped (pots, pans, gas stove, silverware, wine glasses, …)

The bedroom has a bed measuring 140 x 190 (back when the housing development was built in the 1970s and 1980s, Austrians seem to have been even shorter 🙂 If you're taller and like to stretch out in bed, I've remodeled my other two cabins—the beds there are larger.

The beds on the first floor are two 90 x 200 beds. Strictly speaking, they are not beds but rather slatted frames with mattresses, since there is no room for a bed under the roof. The sleeping area under the roof is accessible only by ladder, so it is not recommended for small children or people with limited mobility.

The sofa serves as the fifth sleeping spot—unlike the somewhat short bed, this one is 3 m long and 1.20 wide, and it wraps around the corner to form a corner bench, which also includes a table. Overall, the combination creates a cozy space for everyone to sit together.

The shower is outdoors (screened off, but in an unheated side room on the terrace), which is great in the summer but can be pretty chilly in October. But if you’re only there for two days, you can cut yourself some slack when it comes to showering. 😉 Or toughen up. At least there’s hot water. Lucky us 🙂

A gas grill (Weber) is included.

Solar System: Since there is no electrical connection, cooking, hot water, and heating are powered by gas—unlike at Cabins 5 (Glamping) and 57 (Waterfront). The limited electricity therefore means sacrificing some comforts (no dishwasher, no air conditioning), but strictly speaking, cabins like the Robinson Cabin are the classic lakeside cabins; most are actually even more basic. There might be occasional power shortages in April or October, when the days are short (and if the weather is bad).

A simple BOOT (rowboat with an auxiliary electric motor) is available for free use. Due to the solar power system, a more powerful electric boat is not possible. However, operating the boat may not be feasible for everyone. You should be athletic—or at least agile—to get in and out. This is especially true now, because the water level is very low and the distance between the boat and the deck is greater.

The entire Romantika neighborhood is a weekend community of private homeowners. Only a very small number of owners (like me) rent out their homes from time to time. Therefore, please be QUIET—that is, be considerate of your neighbors.

To view it, click on a stilt house choice in the upper right corner and scroll down to the availability calendar. The pink availability calendar SHOWS current availability. However, you CANNOT click directly on the calendar to book; instead, you must enter your desired dates in the “Check-in” and “Check-out” fields directly below it. It makes sense to choose only a check-in date that is shown in gray (= available) on the availability calendar. 🙂 All possible check-out dates for that check-in date are displayed in bold on the calendar. Since there are minimum stay requirements, you may, for example, be able to select July 27 as your arrival date but not yet July 28 or 29 as your departure date. Longer minimum stays are in effect, especially in July and August (usually 7 nights); in other months, the minimum is 2–4 nights, depending on the season. Please feel free to try it out or ask me directly. If you book longer stays (usually 5 nights or more), you’ll receive a 5% discount on your stay—which means not only are the cleaning costs spread out more evenly over your stay, but the overall cost is also lower.
