A delightful fall weekend centered around goose at Lake Neusiedl awaits you! Of course, in Rust—barely a kilometer from my lakeside cabins—and in Oggau and Mörbisch, each about 3 km away.
If you don't feel like driving after wine and goose—which I can totally understand—you can stay overnight at my place (the best idea; right now there's a 20% discount and more on my website), or take the shuttle service. Take the train to or from Donnerskirchen, and from there, take the shuttle service.
There are many different goose dishes, ranging from classic to innovative (goose kebab, goose burger, goose sushi, wood-fired pizza…), and you get to sit right in the middle of the vineyards, drinking wine straight from the winemaker. I’ve been going regularly in recent years, and I have to say, it’s always a very cozy festival.
